Retro Photo - 10 Years Ago....

Yeah, it's been like forever since I've posted on my blog.  It's been a busy couple of weeks.  What have I been up to?  Well.....skiing, skiing, and more skiing (with a tiny bit of working thrown in).  There's been trips to Mt. Bachelor, Salt Lake City, and most recently a couple of fabulous days up on Mt. Hood.  I've now got tons of photos from my adventures, but nil time to edit them and prepare a post.  Have no fear - I'll slowly work all those great photos and amusing tales into this blog if it takes me the rest of the month.

For now you'll have to settle on a couple images from a big event in my life 10 years ago.  Back in February 2003, I celebrated my 40th birthday.  My hubby and I had an agreement - on our milestone B-days, the birthday boy or girl got to choose a trip anywhere he/she wished.  Roger chose a trip to Alaska.  But I decided to ski somewhere I'd always wanted to visit - Whistler, B.C.

Lucky for me Whistler is a mere 8-hour drive from Portland.  We arrived on the tail end of a large snowstorm, and spent the next three days making tracks through deep fluffy powder.  My hubby, not a huge fan of skiing, bravely stuck it out the entire time, even following me down some of the more gnarly slopes.

A couple of weeks ago, I found these professional photos purchased from the trip.  Looking them over, I can't believe ten years has passed already.  Wow - seems like it was only yesterday.

So what did I do for this milestone birthday?  Well, stay tuned and you'll soon hear all about it!

  1. Happy Valentine's Day Linda and happy (belated?) birthday too! Wow, I have been quite a few places in BC and into the Canadian Rockies also, but never made it to Whistler...looks beautiful there and like you two had a great time!
So, I just have to know, did you ski Alta or Snowbird when you were in SLC?
    Blessings, Aimee

  6. You'll have gathered that skiing isn't my favourite pastime, but I love to look at snowy photos.
That sounds like a good birthday agreement!
Have tried to add your blog to my blogroll but it won't 'take', for some reason.
