For now you'll have to settle on a couple images from a big event in my life 10 years ago. Back in February 2003, I celebrated my 40th birthday. My hubby and I had an agreement - on our milestone B-days, the birthday boy or girl got to choose a trip anywhere he/she wished. Roger chose a trip to Alaska. But I decided to ski somewhere I'd always wanted to visit - Whistler, B.C.
Lucky for me Whistler is a mere 8-hour drive from Portland. We arrived on the tail end of a large snowstorm, and spent the next three days making tracks through deep fluffy powder. My hubby, not a huge fan of skiing, bravely stuck it out the entire time, even following me down some of the more gnarly slopes.
A couple of weeks ago, I found these professional photos purchased from the trip. Looking them over, I can't believe ten years has passed already. Wow - seems like it was only yesterday.
So what did I do for this milestone birthday? Well, stay tuned and you'll soon hear all about it!

Happy Valentine's Day Linda and happy (belated?) birthday too! Wow, I have been quite a few places in BC and into the Canadian Rockies also, but never made it to Whistler...looks beautiful there and like you two had a great time!
ReplyDeleteSo, I just have to know, did you ski Alta or Snowbird when you were in SLC?
Blessings, Aimee
What a fantastic trip that must have been. Can't wait to hear abut this years trip!
ReplyDeleteYou haven't aged a day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great birthday idea. Looks a fabulous place. Can't wait to see more photos.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! I think it's a really neat idea to celebrate milestone birthdays like that. Thanks so much for linking up to Flashback Friday!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are awesome, Linda! Tho' it's been years, I used to love to ski ... and Winter is my fav season. Props to your hubby for being such a good sport!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have gathered that skiing isn't my favourite pastime, but I love to look at snowy photos.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a good birthday agreement!
Have tried to add your blog to my blogroll but it won't 'take', for some reason.
Nice old shots - I'd love to ski there, it's huge!
